The Wyrd Roll
Here is a playable demo of my first game, The Wyrd Roll. Currently its still in alpha, so it has a long way to go as far as graphics and sound, but the core is there for you to enjoy.
This is a rouge-like deck building game where you use dice to do battle. There are two game modes, "Challenge the Tower" and "Delve the Dungeon". Each use the same core battling system but with different gameplay surrounding the battles.
Challenge the Tower
In this mode you climb the infinite tower to face a new enemy on each floor. You start by choosing a random deck or a basic deck. The random deck is 15 random cards pulled from the full card list. The basic deck is a preset list of 15 lower power cards meant to give the player a window into the types of cards the game has without making the first few battles too easy. The enemy NPC will always start each battle with a random deck of cards based off the player's level. So the higher you go the better cards the NPC will have access to.
After each battle you are awarded with 5 gold, which can be upgraded, and are prompted to go to the shop. In the shop you can spend your gold on player upgrades like more health or a larger starting hand. You can also buy card packs that give one card of the pack type. These can be used to change what's in your deck, what starters you're using, or permanently modify your starters by making them bigger or giving them extra abilities.
From the shop you go to the deck builder where you setup your deck and which starters you want to use. When editing your deck you're able to see all of the cards in your card pool and select which 15 you want to use in your next battle. You are also able to select which dice or relics you want to have in play at the start of the battle.
After you're happy with your deck and starters, you just have to click the "Battle" button to start the next battle. You start each battle fully healed and your starters already in play.
Delve the Dungeon
The dungeon is similar to the tower in that its also infinite, but instead of climbing you're exploring. Each floor is a random collection of connected rooms with the stairs leading down to the next floor being guarded by a boss monster.
There are monster scattered through the rooms that will attack you as soon as you enter triggering a battle. You do not automatically heal after each battle instead you will need to find a fountain to bring you to full health, but not every floor has a fountain so be careful. There will be other ways to heal in the future.
Aside from monsters rooms also have a chance to contain treasure chests. These contain player upgrades, cards, and starters with better ones being found at lower floors. Sometimes the chests are already opened, so they won't contain any treasure. If you're real unlucky the chest will contain a monster waiting to ambush you as soon as you open it.
There's a chance that you will come across a shop in one of the rooms. It sells the same player upgrades and card packs as in the tower. Unlike the tower though you are able to come back to the shop as much as you want while still on the floor.
While not in battle you are able to customize your deck and starters at any time by clicking the "Deck Builder" button on the side of the screen. This works the same as in the tower, but instead of clicking a "Battle" button when you're done you click a "Save" button. This saves your deck and starters so you're ready when you find your next monster.
At the end of each floor there's a boss room that once entered you can't leave. You will have to fight the boss upon entering the room. If you defeat the boss then you're awarded with multiple treasure chests and the stairs leading down to the next floor.
With every floor you descend the dungeon has the chance to grow leading to more room to explore.
